Translational Medicine Series: Gut Microbiome-Based Therapy

Dear Colleagues,

In the last decade, the studies on gut microbiota have advanced from detecting associations between the microbes and disease conditions to mechanistically show that the microbes can be used or targeted to treat the diseases. Several important papers have demonstarted that introducing specific microbes to the host can cause the disease with which they were associated. There are huge promises for the use of personalized therapies based on the gut microbes in medicine. This special issue aims at collecting papers on advances in gut microbiome-based therapies to ultimately deliver the important message from microbiologists to physicians and other endpoint users.
